Ten years have passed since WIN World was born on December 4, 2008. They were ten years and so many challenges, ambitions, achievements, resulting in more than 110 amazing projects with extraordinary people. Before moving forward, it is time now to look backwards and highlight ten out of our most meaningful projects. These ten projects were quite difficult to select and our choices took into consideration not only projects that challenged us and took us further, as a company, but also projects that represent daring movements of companies – yes, we love when companies embrace a field of knowledge of their interest, explore it deeply and promote public conferences to share findings and new ideas with community, and this is exactly what happens with most projects included in our top ten.
In an aleatory order, here we go!
1. WIN WORLD | Happy Conference
Launched in 2009, in a time where there was very little talk of happiness in corporate environments, this is passionate conference that inspires leaders, teams and entire corporations to develop a culture of meaning, creation and extraordinary results. A very special program with an average of 700 participants per year – people committed to develop and promote a life of purpose, contribution, success and happiness! Each edition is focused on an exciting theme – from positive psychology to creativity, trust, productivity, magic, connection, winning mindset or people-first leadership – which is explored through talks, debates, exercises and other learning and networking dynamics before, during and after the conference.
Terra dos Sonhos is the Happy Cause of this initiative and we are happy for being together since the very beginning.
For sure this is a very happy way to grow in life and business and we love it!
2. WIN WORLD & PBS | PBS Leadership Grand Conference
Conceived and promoted by WIN World and Porto Business School in 2010, Porto Business School Grand Conference is an incredible and successful conference that every year gets together more than 1000 Portuguese leaders for an unforgettable half day program on leadership at Casa da Música, Porto.
Each edition is designed to be an extraordinary learning experience that provides knowledge, ideas and insights to prepare and inspire minds for succeeding and leading in the future.
The President of the Portuguese Republic recognizes the importance of this initiative since the very first edition and attributes the High Sponsorship of The Presidency since then.
A must-be learning and networking event with some of the most inspiring speakers in the world who bring unconventional, irreverent and bold views on leadership.
3. FUNDAÇÃO EDP | Rio + 20 Live Connected Lisboa
One of the most fascinating projects WIN World has put together. This time with Fundação EDP, in 2012, by the occasion of Rio + 20 summit. A two day conference on the world’s sustainable agenda, with two cities in permanent connection – Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon – to discuss the most prominent matters. Exhibition, two auditoriums, 18 speakers and audiences on both sides of the Atlantic in live connection. Speakers, contents, multimedia, marketing, dedicated contact center, production, powerful technology and operations’ teams in Rio and Lisbon made it a great and inspiring live media experience.
4. BANCO PRIVADO ATLÂNTICO | Atlântico Meetings
Since 2013 that Lisbon /Luanda /Washington is our life when working Atlantico Meetings – the annual premium conferences of Banco Privado Atlantico that show Angola beyond the headlines to the world. The conferences take place in Washington during the IMF and WB Annual Meetings, speakers and participants come from all over the world, contents and multimedia are prepared in Luanda and Lisbon, a dedicated contact center is opened 24 hrs a day, project’s team is in the three cities ensuring planning, coordination and implementation of all works. Excellence is our drive in everything, in every place.
5. THE SCHOOL OF LIFE | The School of Life Conference
One of the most exciting projects of WIN World, having worked closely with Alain de Botton and The School of Life on planning, designing and producing the first ever The School of Life Conference in the world. Following Alain’s contents’ curation, WIN World gave support regarding program and experience design, participants’ dynamics, marketing and communication strategy, all production and logistics in Lisbon. A three-day program, with more than 400 people from 30 countries who got together for an amazing journey of transformation and growth, having philosophy and humanities at the core.
6. NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC | National Geographic Summit
One of the most mesmerizing projects WIN World has worked on. This time with National Geographic that wanted to move live and embrace a journey closer to people towards planet and humanity care. The challenge involved research, strategy, concept, contents and multimedia development, participants’ involvement, commercial and marketing advisory, coordination of all production and logistics. First edition, in 2017, was a huge success, sold out in 3 weeks and gathered more than 1600 people. For the second edition new ambitions were set and we all worked together to expand program, audience and impact. And so, working very closely with the National Geographic and Fox Networks team, we moved to the Coliseu de Lisboa, for a two-complete-day program, with a line up involving 8 speakers on stage, and an in-room audience of more than 3,500 people. Some sessions were livestreamed and National Geographic Summit 2018 reached people across the entire world! An incredibly meaningful project designed to inspire everyone to play a greater role and to take all of us further.

7. COTEC | Cotec Europe Summit
In 2018, COTEC Europe Summit was held in Portugal, at the beautiful Convento de Mafra. Work 4.0 – Rethinking the Human-Technology Alliance was the theme and WIN World works focused on research, knowledge organization and contents development; program, speakers, presenter and moderators preparation; image, art and design; multimedia; communication; production; logistics. A complete and integrated solution for a prestigious and leading conference with three Heads of State – of Portugal, Spain and Italy –, an European Commissioner, the Minister of Economy and other renowned speakers on stage for an audience of more than 400 leaders. An unforgettable project on a fundamental topic of the future, which contents are now organized and available at the website.

8. FIDELIDADE | Conferências Fidelidade
Make of retirement an attractive theme for the largest audience possible was the challenge brought to us! And so we immersed ourselves in the fascinating world of retirement, seeing it as a life project where we are responsible for giving more life to the living years. An incredible project where ageing experts, philosophers and managers shared innovative thoughts and fascinating ideas about how to reinvent the way we see life, our life. Contents, multimedia, communication, publishing, production and participants’ management, are just parts of this initiative who got more than 500 participants in the conference in a day of general strike!
9. JOSÉ DE MELLO SAÚDE | Conferências Saúde CUF
Every two years, the largest private health group in Portugal used to organize a conference for its clinicians and managers, clients, partners, academia and other industry players, up to a total of 500 people. In 2013, WIN World worked with José de Mello Saúde, organizing this incredible public conference about mobile health. With more than 10 guest speakers, internal experts and live connections to hospitals and health facilities abroad, this conference was designed to bring mobile dynamics into the program as well! A special innovation contest for students and researchers gave motto to an exhibition in a day where mobile health ruled the works.
10. SONAE | Finov 2013
An impactful innovation forum, more than 800 participants, 3,000 sq meters of production, with exhibition areas, main auditorium, and secondary stages. Great speakers, case-studies, multimedia, networking, companies and brands sharing their best innovation practices, were the learning dynamics lived in this day. A distinctive image was used in every single detail, a set of communication initiatives involved sponsors and participants in the innovation send, a meticulous production plan with a great use of technology enriched the whole experience. WIN World assured as well sponsors and partners’ management, including brand activation for some of the sponsors.

And well, ten is too difficult to select and there are two other projects that we would like to mention as representative of the best of our journey.
In 2009, Central de Cervejas, wanted to move forward and beyond and bring leadership and happiness together, hand in hand.
The challenge was to unite employees and Central de Cervejas in a different and really meaningful way, bringing people together to uplift a culture of happiness and true connection in the company.
With these words in mind, we immediately asked ourselves: why not involving people in building something together, a real structure that could represent joint efforts and achievements, joy and happiness while living and building the business as a team? From that idea to a call to Querido, mudei a casa TV show, only a minute or so lapsed! And so we did it. Querido, mudei a casa told us that it would be possible to think of a special episode for a corporate client, and Central de Cervejas loved the idea and its dining hall actually needed a great renewal. All employees were called for a set of challenges and worked together with the Querido, mudei a casa team on a complete turnaround of the company’s eating area. This was the greatest renewal Querido, mudei a casa ever had to tackle and it was also one of the most inspiring and impactful internal events which happened at Central Cervejas, resulting also in a great TV show – the Querido, mudei a Central!.
All people involved were happy and proud of this joint achievement and enthralling moment of Central de Cervejas’ life.
Last but not the least, the other project we would like to refer in this post, is not a single project but a line of projects that we love: the corporate annual meetings. We love to work strategic internal meetings because it is in these occasions that we really understand business challenges and ambitions, the arenas in which companies are playing, and how leaders set their visions, strategies and goals. The responsibility was ours to design programs and experiences that not only serve to share ambitions, ideas, facts and figures, plans and ways, but above all to inspire and align people to make way for growth with collective positivism and determination. WIN World is proud of having worked with some of the largest and most innovative companies in Portugal, such as Sonae, BA Glass, Sogrape or Grupo José de Mello, just to mention a few. For sure, all these are unforgettable projects, full of applied learnings, and for which we have had the enormous pleasure of studying specific industries in depth, as well as business dynamics, pioneers and case studies that are making the way for the future. Running the business and designing the future is challenging and fascinating and we love to work close to leaders in the decisive moments in which they have to inspire and align their people on the journey for tomorrow and beyond!
