It is not money or success at any price that drives the new generation of workers. What adolescents and young adults born between 1997 and 2012 want is the opportunity to reorient company culture and make a social impact through their work. The so-called Generation Z rates well for jobs in corporate recruiting, marketing, social media, data science, product, and business development. That’s what a recent Glassdoor survey reveals.
The study explored which roles and companies produce the highest satisfaction in Gen Z. The research considered Glassdoor’s database, filtering employers with at least 30 full-time job evaluations in the United States, and data from April 2020 through July 15, 2022.
“Overall, Gen Z workers find the most joy working at large and established companies in roles such as corporate recruiting and marketing management which enable them to reorient a company’s culture and obtain better alignment with the values of their employees. With the rise of remote work, Gen Zers have opted out of the big-city life and instead are happier working in smaller, more affordable cities.”, the report says.
In the analysis, Glassdoor states that it is necessary to take into account that the lists of occupations best evaluated by each generation are influenced by age, years of experience and skills that are possible to achieve at the beginning of the career or further ahead.
